If the wire gets stuck during use, it is likely that too much steel rope was put at once, causing it to loosen and jam. Instead of pulling up by 1ft, try lowering it by 2ft to prevent the steel rope from getting stuck. Adding lubricating oil to the steel rope is also recommended.

Sparks during operation are normal as the motor of the hoist is a universal motor. However, the loud noise can be attributed to the high power and small size of the motor, typical of universal motors in electric hoists.
